#SunshineSlowJam: Method Behind The Mix

sade

When I choose the music for mixes, it usually just comes to me in some order that I can only describe as divine intervention. I have a lot on my mind week to week and some days I don’t know how I’m going to come up with a complete song list but it happens and each time I’m thankful. I’ve strayed away from slow songs because I felt I needed to mix it up and give some more mid-tempo and uptempo jams. I play what I feel and if it comes to me slower or faster, I roll with it. Marvin has been on my mind as well as Sade (the goddess she is), mainly when I have a lot going on I turn to his music. There is something for everybody in this mix from the older to the new school but the common thread is the music is and was authentic. Seek out the names BJ The Chicago Kid, King, Gregory Porter, Carolyn Malachi just to name a few.
