Leon Ware is a producer’s producer and a musician’s musician. I knew of Leon Ware’s music because of his involvement with my favorite artist, Marvin Gaye. He started his career as a writer at Motown and wrote for the who’s who of R&B and funk including Four Tops, Bobby Womack, Ike & Tina, and Michael Jackson. The landmark album he wrote for and one of my personal favorites, I Want You, which scored the hit After the Dance.

Another one of my favs, Inside My Love, by the insanely talented Minnie Riperton was written by Ware. You can hear the sensuality in the music and Minnie captures it even more perfectly with her voice.

Leon makes 3 in a R&B/funk trilogy of taste makers/cultivators of sound gone too soon.

Thank you for the seductive, sensual, classic, dope ass music.
